SEO expert in Germany: methodical SEO for the EU’s biggest search market.

84 million people, Google at roughly 80% and Bing at a genuine 10%. I do the unglamorous, methodical work — technical audits, German-language content, local signals — that wins German searches.

THE PROBLEM

Germany rewards precision — and punishes sloppiness.

The Mittelstand competes on quality, and Google.de does too: thin translated content, missing legal trust signals and ignored second engines leak customers every week.

Translated content does not rank

German buyers spot machine translation instantly — and so does Google. Content that reads translated rarely earns trust or positions.

Missing legal trust signals

Every commercial German website legally needs an Impressum. A missing one costs visitor trust and can trigger expensive warnings.

Bing and reviews get ignored

Bing holds a real share of German search, and Ecosia posts its best numbers here. One-engine SEO leaves money on the table.

Methodical, German-market SEO — done by one senior person.

Proper German keyword research, a technical audit that includes trust signals like the Impressum, optimisation for both Google and Bing, and a review system built for German buying habits.

TECHNICAL FIRST

German SEO starts with getting the foundations right.

I audit your site the way a German customer judges it: fast, correct, trustworthy. Then I build the content and local signals on top of foundations that actually hold.

  • ✓Full technical audit with fixes prioritised
  • ✓German keyword research per city and service
  • ✓Google + Bing Places optimisation
BUILT FOR THE MITTELSTAND

Family-run businesses deserve senior work.

Most of my German clients are owner-run firms. They get the same deal everywhere: one senior person, plain reporting, and work they can verify themselves.

WHY ME

One senior person instead of an agency.

No account managers, no juniors learning on your budget — just the person doing the work, accountable to you every month.

  • ✓
    Proper German, not translated

Content a German reader trusts — researched and written for the market, not run through a tool.

  • ✓
    Methodical by habit

Checklists, audits, and reports. Boring in the best way: nothing important gets missed.

  • ✓
    One person, $700 flat

Senior work at a freelancer rate, month-to-month. No contracts, no juniors.

  • ✓
    Honest about Bing

I optimise for where your customers actually search — including the 10% on Bing most SEOs ignore.

HONEST DISCLAIMER

Who this is not for

For German businesses thinking of hiring me — a quick honesty check first.

  • If you want guaranteed #1 rankings — I’m not your person. Nobody honest can promise that.
  • If you need it all done by Friday — I won’t be a fit. Local SEO compounds over months, not days.
  • If you want an agency with account managers and slide decks — I’m one person, and I do the work myself.
  • If you’re hunting the cheapest SEO quote — keep looking. This is senior work at a flat $700 a month.

Yes, and Germany is the market where it matters most. Bing holds a genuine 10% share here, far above its global average, driven by Windows defaults on office PCs, and Ecosia, the Berlin-based privacy engine, posts its best home-market numbers anywhere. Together the non-Google engines represent a meaningful slice of commercial searches, especially in B2B. I optimize for Bing's webmaster guidelines and Ecosia's preferences alongside Google, because in Germany ignoring 10%+ of your market is just leaving money on the table.
It is the legally required publisher information every commercial German website must display: company name, address, contact details, registration numbers and the responsible person. It comes from section 5 of the DDG, and it affects SEO indirectly but seriously. A missing or incomplete Impressum can trigger an Abmahnung, a formal warning letter that routinely costs four figures, and German users distrust sites without one, which hurts conversions. Every audit I do in Germany checks the Impressum first, because it is both a legal requirement and a trust signal.
It depends on your audience, and getting it wrong costs conversions. The formal Sie is the default for B2B, professional services, finance, healthcare and anyone selling to an older or traditional audience. The informal du works for startups, youth brands, outdoor and lifestyle. Mixing them, or switching mid-site, reads as careless to German readers. For SEO the choice also shapes keyword targeting, because search queries themselves use one form or the other. I decide this in the audit based on your customers, then keep it consistent across every page.
More than almost anywhere in Europe. Germany's privacy sensitivity is cultural, not just legal: the Planet49 case, the TDDDG cookie rules and the DSK's button-parity guidance all grew from how seriously Germans take tracking. Practically, this means your consent banner must offer a real, equally prominent refuse option, and your analytics must respect it. Sites that get this right earn trust; sites with dark patterns get reported. I build consent setups that are compliant and still give you clean data, because in Germany privacy and performance are not opposites.
Through the platforms Germans actually check. ProvenExpert is the go-to for service businesses, Jameda dominates for doctors and medical practices, Kununu covers the employer side, and Google reviews underpin the map pack everywhere. German reviewers write in detail, which is an asset: a dozen thorough reviews say more than fifty one-liners. I set up review collection on the right platforms for your trade, in German, with reply templates, because in this market the business with the most credible reviews usually wins the comparison.
