Deposit Policy.

I take a deposit on every project before work begins. It’s standard practice for freelancers — it reserves your slot in my schedule and covers the research and setup work that starts on day one.

1. Standard deposit

The standard deposit is 50% of your quoted project fee, due before I start work. The remaining 50% is due on completion, before final handover. For smaller fixed-price jobs, I may ask for the full amount upfront — your quote will always state the exact terms.

2. Monthly SEO retainers

Retainers work differently: there’s no separate deposit. The first month is simply paid in advance, and each following month is billed before it begins.

3. When the deposit is refundable

If you cancel before I’ve started any work, your deposit is refunded in full — no questions, no fees. Once work has begun, the deposit becomes non-refundable because it covers time I’ve already invested in your project.

4. Paused projects

Life happens. If your project pauses because you need time, your deposit holds your place for up to 60 days. After that, we’ll talk and agree on next steps together.

5. Payment methods

I accept the payment methods stated in your quote — typically bank transfer or an agreed online method. The deposit must clear before work is scheduled.
